Support Pet Owners on the Firing Line!
A
group led by Diane Amble paid the expenses for Lassie, 'Timmy' (Jon
Provost) and Rudd Weatherwax, Lassie's trainer, to come to
Sacramento to testify against California's AB 1634, the mandatory
spay/neuter bill. The total was over $3500. Diane

Pet-Law:
The Email List
On
the Pet-Law email list, you'll meet some of the finest people
and brightest minds on the internet. Reading the list posts is
an excellent education in pet legislation and many other related
topics. But it is very high-traffic. Please read this before
subscribing!
How
many posts a day will I receive from the list?
With
a membership in the neighborhood of 2,000, Pet-Law is an extremely
busy list, often producing over 100 posts a day. Even during calmer
periods, it runs 40-75 posts per day.
How
do people deal with that much mail?
- To
stop your e-mail entirely and just read the list on the website,
send a blank e-mail to pet-law-nomail@yahoogroups.com. Then to
read the list, go to the
Pet-Law Yahoo website and click on Messages. You will not
receive anything in your inbox from the list and can read and
participate when you have time.
- The
best overall solution we have found is to set up message filters
(also called rules or folders) inside the email program. When
the message comes into your email box, it is routed to a separate
Pet-Law folder. That way it isn't mixed up with the note from
Aunt Sophie, the urgent virus warning that annoying friend of
yours sends every day, or the letter from your boss confirming
your raise. Look in the HELP file of your email program for words
like FOLDERS, RULES, or FILTERS and set it up to direct any mail
that has pet-law@yahoogroups.com in the TO line to a Pet-Law folder.
- Some
people set up a separate email account just for Pet-Law mail.
Go to the Free
Email Account Directory for a comprehensive list and reviews
of free accounts.
- If
you must, you can unsubscribe by sending a blank e-mail to pet-law-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com.
Yahoo may take from 12 hours to several days to unsub you.
We cannot do anything to speed up the process, so you'll just
have to be patient. If you sent an unsubscribe notice to the proper
address (not to the list and not to the listowners), your unsub
will go through. We suggest setting your membership to NO
MAIL rather than unsubbing. Then you can still read and participate
when you have time, but will not receive email from the list.
